This dataset provides current as well as historic data for more than 6,000 variables for each of the nation’s counties, as well as state and national data. It contains information on health facilities, health professions, measures of resource scarcity, health status, economic activity, health training programs, and socioeconomic and environmental characteristics. In addition, the basic file contains geographic codes and descriptors which enable it to be linked to many other files and to aggregate counties into various geographic groupings. The Area Health Resources Files (AHRF) data are designed to be used by planners, policymakers, researchers, and others interested in the nation’s health care delivery system and factors that may impact health status and health care in the United States. The AHRF data includes county, state, and national-level files in eight broad areas: Health Care Professions, Health Facilities, Population Characteristics, Economics, Health Professions Training, Hospital Utilization, Hospital Expenditures, and Environment. The AHRF data are obtained from more than 60 sources. The AHRF has county, state, and national level files from the HRSA, Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW), National Center for Health Workforce Analysis (NCHWA) available for download.

This dataset contains the program service and current information for clinicians that participated in a HRSA program that is included in the analysis. For privacy purposes, location information of clinicians is only provided at the city level.

This dataset provides a list of federally-funded health centers that provide health services. For more than 40 years, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-supported health centers have provided comprehensive, culturally competent, quality primary health care services to medically underserved communities and vulnerable populations. Health centers are community-based and consumer-run organizations that serve populations with limited access to health care. These include low-income populations, the uninsured, those with limited English proficiency, migratory and seasonal agricultural workers, individuals and families experiencing homelessness, and those living in public housing.

This dashboard contains aggregated performance data for HRSA-awarded health professions training grants from Academic Year 2012-2013 to present. The user may view demographic summaries of health workforce trainees across programs, view the locations and types of clinical training sites, and the types of curricula developed for trainees, faculty training, and continuing education.

This dataset contains information on active participants in the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program (NCSP) and Nurse Corps Loan Repayor Program (NCLRP). Millions of Americans do not have access to health care because they live where there are not enough health professionals to meet basic needs. Shortages of health professionals suggest many more may soon find themselves unable to see a primary health care provider when they need one. HRSA scholarship and loan programs help to encourage and enable clinicians to work in underserved areas. Participants in the NCSP, also referred to as scholars, are either in school or serving in the field; and participants in the NCLRP program, also referred to as loan repayors, are serving in the field. When serving, the scholars and loan repayors are fulfilling their service requirement at facilities which are located in shortage areas.

This entity represents the data dictionary for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Recipients and Sub-Recipients data mart. This dataset lists the recipients and sub-recipients of Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) funding and medical providers within the RWHAP who currently provide medical services for low-income people living with HIV (PLWH). The RWHAP provides a comprehensive system of HIV primary medical care, medications, and essential support services to low-income people living with HIV (PLWH). The Program funds grants to cities/counties, states, and local community-based organizations to provide HIV care and treatment services to more than half a million people each year.

These data provide areas designated by HRSA as having shortages of primary care, dental care, or mental health providers. HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) develops shortage designation criteria and uses them to decide whether or not a geographic area or population group is a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA), Medically Underserved Area (MUA), or Medically Underserved Population (MUP). More than 34 federal programs depend on HPSA/MUA/MUP designations to determine eligibility or as a funding preference. About 20 percent of the U.S. population resides in primary medical care HPSAs. HPSAs may have shortages of primary medical care, dental, or mental health providers; may be urban or rural areas; population groups; or medical or other public facilities.

This dataset contains data on workforce projections for the supply of and demand for healthcare workers in the United States. Data are available by occupation, year, and (where available) state and rurality. Also included are several scenarios that show how a particular change would affect supply and demand.

This dashboard contains data on workforce well-being, job satisfaction, and burnout of health workers across HRSA supported health centers nationally. This validated web-based survey was conducted from November 2022 - January 2023 to approximately 50 percent of health centers and examines drivers and outcomes measures of workforce well-being that include job satisfaction, engagement, burnout, and intention to stay. Survey data will support workforce well-being improvement strategies at health centers and will inform future technical assistance and other HRSA programs aimed at supporting a thriving health care workforce.
