Search Criteria
Please provide a street address, city, and state or a street address and ZIP Code.
Authorized originating sites* which meet the following criteria shall be designated as eligible for Medicare telehealth payment:
- Address does not fall in a county that is in a metropolitan statistical area OR
- Address falls in a rural health professional shortage area
There are no geographic restrictions for:
- Treatment of substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders
- Diagnosis and treatment of mental health services (under specific circumstances)
- Home dialysis for patients with end-stage renal disease
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute stroke
*Authorized originating sites include:
- Offices of a Physician or Practitioner
- Critical access hospitals
- Rural health clinics
- Federally qualified health centers
- Hospitals
- Hospital-based or critical access hospital-based renal dialysis centers (including satellites)
- Skilled Nursing Facilities
- Community mental health centers
- Renal Dialysis Facilities (under specific circumstances)
- Mobile stroke units (under specific circumstances)
- Rural emergency hospitals
The home of an individual is considered an eligible originating site for:
- Treatment of substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders
- Diagnosis and treatment of mental health services (under specific circumstances)
- Home dialysis for patients with end-stage renal disease
All data on eligibility is updated once each year. The results of the analyzer are consistent across the entire calendar year and will be updated on January 1 of the following year.
