National Health Service Corps (NHSC), Nurse Corps, and Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery (STAR) and other Programs
This dataset contains information on active participants in the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program (NCSP) and Nurse Corps Loan Repayor Program (NCLRP). Millions of Americans do not have access to health care because they live where there are not enough health professionals to meet basic needs. Shortages of health professionals suggest many more may soon find themselves unable to see a primary health care provider when they need one. HRSA scholarship and loan programs help to encourage and enable clinicians to work in underserved areas. Participants in the NCSP, also referred to as scholars, are either in school or serving in the field; and participants in the NCLRP program, also referred to as loan repayors, are serving in the field. When serving, the scholars and loan repayors are fulfilling their service requirement at facilities which are located in shortage areas.National Health Service Corps (NHSC), Nurse Corps, and Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery (STAR) and other Programs
