Abstract Text: Emergency Medical Services for Children State Partnership Program Iowa Department of Health and Human Services 321 E. 12th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50319-0075 Vicki Petersen xxx-xxx-xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxx.xxxx https://idph.iowa.gov/ Funding Opportunity Number HRSA-23-063 Funding Opportunity Type(s): New, Competing Continuation Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) Number: 93.127 UEI: S47QLSY37VS1 The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (IDHHS) is applying for funding from HRSA’s Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) program to increase the availability and quality of pediatric emergency care in Iowa. If granted this funding, IDHHS will sustain a full-time EMSC program manager and a portion of one administrative assistant. The program manager coordinates with the EMSC Advisory Council and its subcommittees to develop and support programs to prevent injury and illness in children as well as helps ensure trained and equipped medical professionals are available to treat pediatric patients. IDHHS will continue to provide technical assistance and resources to emergency medical services personnel, hospitals, schools, law enforcement, emergency preparedness partners and others. The EMSC program will continue to collaborate with other programs like the Hospital Preparedness Program, Family Health, Immunization, Department of Education and other programs to leverage funding to most effectively support emergent pediatric healthcare needs. The EMSC program makes a substantial difference in ensuring pediatric education and resources are available to Iowa’s healthcare professionals.
